Kerensa Gardens

North Hinksey

This property's garden had a significant issue to be dealt with a small enclosed area containing an electricity substation had unintentionally become its focus. The aspect of the garden meant the existing patio area saw very little sun, and the lack of planting made the garden feel stark. By introducing some strongly defined beds on different levels, along with a raised deck and trellis screening, the eye is drawn around the garden, rather than settling on the aforementioned enclosure, which is now barely visible.

Maintenance is an issue for many people, so the planting areas are all covered with an anti-weed matting and bark mulch. The gravelled areas have the same matting underneath, which still allows full drainage of surface water.
